Our Story

Under the direction of Music Director Rob Head, WSSWB has quickly distinguished itself as a premier wind ensemble, combining amateur and semi-professional musicians from across the East of England. Established in 2024 with the goal of providing a platform for musicians seeking to perform in the highest-quality wind ensemble. Rob's leadership and experience with the Bury St Edmunds Concert Band and Youth Band adeptly prepared him to steer this vibrant new ensemble.

We are entirely self-supporting and financed through membership subscriptions and revenue from concerts.

Our Mission

Our goal is to build a vibrant community where music pushes the traditional boundaries of wind band performance, inviting more audiences to experience the magic of wind band music. We are dedicated to creating connections, inspiring expression, and igniting excitement through every performance. With a commitment to excellence, we deliver a bold and diverse repertoire that spans classical wind compositions to innovative contemporary works, ensuring an unforgettable experience for our audiences.
